Well somehow even after all the negative and annoying press that Tom Cruise has received over the past year, the actor has still managed to top the annual Forbes magazine Celebrity 100 list. Somehow even though Mission Impossible 3 did not do as well as most hoped for, Cruise’s movie successes and his new romance with Fiancée Katie Holmes helped him move into the top spot which an estimated fortune of 67 Million. But this isn’t the first time Cruise has topped this list, he did so once before in 2001. Just like myself many people found this news to be a shock since of all the negative press Cruise has received in the past year. Regardless of how much people like Cruise his movie earnings and his press stories have earned him yet again a number one spot in Forbes.
A Forbes wealth expert comments about the issue and says that Cruise is the only celebrity to ever be in the number one spot twice. Cruise is also the only film star to make the top 10 this year. Even Oprah Winfrey dropped from the top spot down to number three. Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan completely fell off the top 100 all together after both of them just made it on the list last year. Also Madonna, Will Ferrell, and Mel Gibson have disappeared from the list as well. Musicians however were pretty big because the Rolling Stones were number 2, U2 was number 4, 50 Cent was number 8, and lastly Paul McCartney was number 14.
The top ten most influential celebrities according to Forbes Magazine are as follows:
