His Comicbook Romance

It seems that My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way is more than just a pretty face (if you like that sort of thing). He's been telling NME about his brand new comic book The Umbrella Man.
Gerard is a sweet little nerd at heart, and wants us to return to the glory days when kids went into comic book stores just like the one in The Simpsons (which we secretly want to visit). "I hope it gets people into comic store who normally wouldn't go there," he said to the music weekly. "That's a success to me. This is the kind of superhero book that needs to exist and they don't exist anymore. I want to do work that pushes the boundary and I want people to love it."
Helping him in this noble mission was artist Gabriel Ba. The comics follow seven suitably moody superheros who are trying to save the planet – no mention of whether they'll do that through earnest emo-pop, though.
