Is Richard Kelly aiding Terrorists?

One of my all time favorite films is Donnie Darko which was directed and written by a man named Richard Kelly. To my shock today I have read that Richard Kelly might not be able to attend the Cannes Film Festival because his passport is being reviewed by the United States Government. The reason is because there is a James Kelly on the terrorist watch list.
Richard Kelly hopes that he can make the premiere of his new movie Southland Tales at Cannes later this month but is unsure of what will happen at the moment. It has been said that Kelly has got in touch with a US senator and has contacted his mother to bring him documents that will help prove his American citizenship. Richard Kelly oddly enough was born in the United States in Virginia. Kelly thinks the whole issue is about the plot of Southland Tales which is in part about security measures taken by the United States Government following the events of 9/11. And he has been quoted by a Hollywood insider saying “"The paranoid conspiracy freak inside me is starting to think this has something to do with the film."
I personally find this story to be quite amusing actually because the United States Government is accusing a filmmaker of being a terrorist. I really hope there is a follow up although I would say I am 99.9 percent sure that Richard Kelly isn’t aiding terrorists.
