Isaac Hayes Quits South Park

Isaac Hayes has official quit his job of voicing the character Chef on the TV series South Park. Hayes has stated that “South Park promotes intolerance and bigotry and he can no longer be part of the series.” Haynes apparently was offending by the recent Tom Cruise episode titled Trapped in the Closet because it made fun of the scientology religion. Hayes believes in scientology which is probably the main reason why he quit the series. Matt Stone, one of the creators of the series, states “Isaac had no problem with the shows content before and he has cashed all his paychecks from the show.” Stone continues on by saying that “This is all about his faith of Scientology.” While the show South Park can never be taken seriously, Isaac has taken it seriously and feels that the recent episode was an attack on his personal belief system. But South Park to me seems to rip on anything and everyone and you have to take it with a grain of salt. From Christians to Scientologists and from Barbra Streisand to Tom Cruise, South Park tears apart and belittles everyone and everything. I think that’s the main reason why they get away with the stuff that they do because they don’t take sides. Anyway it will be interesting to see who they get to voice Chef in the upcoming episodes or if they will just eliminate his character from all future episodes. I guess only time will tell.
