Madonna doesn’t turn 50

We’re big believers in celebrating non-landmark birthdays – let’s hear it for 23, for no reason at all! – and clearly that’s something we share with Madonna, who pulled out all the stops for her 49th. (We wish we shared her bank account too, and hey, her legs – and so do you, don’t lie.)
The party was supposedly ‘low-key’ but Madge never does things by halves. She and husband Guy Ritchie (is that thing still around?) and some pals partied at her house in Wiltshire along with The Devil’s Horsemen. No, she didn’t hold a séance and summon the dark lord himself – she just hired some medieval entertainers to gallop about doing a jousting thing. So that’s OK.
We wonder what she’s going to do next year for her 50th – we predict she’ll hire the moon and bring it down to central London for five or six hundred of her best mates. She is at least going to share the joy with a massive gig in New York’s Central Park, although we’d probably have to sell all the children we haven’t had yet to get a ticket…
