Mo’Nique’s Racial incident
Mo’Nique best known for starring in such crappy films as Soul Plane and Phat Girls was actually forced off a plane after she argued with a flight attendant about being racist towards her. The argument began after Mo’Nique’s stylist put a hair dryer in the first class baggage locker where Mo’Nique was actually sitting while her stylist and other people flying with her flew back in coach. The flight attendant reportedly "Tell your people that the next time they have an attitude, they are being thrown off ... Since 9/11, we don't play around." The argument resulted in Mo’Nique being escorted back to the Chicago O’ Hare Airport where a supervisor then called the local police on the actress. In a recent interview with the New York Daily News, Mo’Nique states "I felt like I was being treated like an animal. This happens to black people all the time, and they don't have a voice. It was humiliating." Jean Medina, who is a spokeswoman for United Airlines, says, "We regret Ms. Imes felt in any way that she was not treated with courtesy and respect. There was a confrontation involving a customer that caused the flight to be delayed. When a situation occurs on a flight that causes a delay, or disruption, we must act in the best interest of all our customers." Personally I think I would be more mad at Mo’Nique for doing such crappy movies and would have asked her for $15 so I can get my money back from watching Soul Plane.
