More Revelations About Brad and Jen

It’s been a week since we last caught up with Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston - and, unsurprisingly, it seems they’re both still suffering after the official announcement of their marriage break-up came 12 days ago. But perhaps a little more surprising is the news that, despite rumours that it was Brad who wanted out, he’s the one who seems to be having a rougher time of it.
Last week we told you how Jen had thrown herself into work – filming her new movie Friends with Money. She’s also moved in with her close friend, hairdresser Chris McMillan (who, just in case you were wondering, is very definitely gay). And as if to prove that she’s definitely moving on in life, she’s stopped wearing her wedding ring. But insiders on-set say she still seems pretty sad and introspective.
Meanwhile, Brad is now back in the US, following his Ocean’s Twelve promotional tour of Japan, and is looking extremely down in the dumps. He’s now taking some time out in Florida, and has been spotted walking along the beach – still wearing his wedding ring. ‘He was very quiet,’ an onlooker told The Sun. ‘He seemed like a man with lots on his mind.’
These latest developments come after Closer magazine published an exclusive story, suggesting that Brad dumped Jennifer after she’d made an ‘eleventh hour’ attempt to save their marriage. On his birthday, knowing how desperate he was to have a child, Jen apparently gave him a gift-wrapped pregnancy test kit with a note, reading: ‘I’m ready now for a baby.’ Sadly it seems it was too little too late.
‘He loved her to pieces, yet she pushed him away,’ a friend of Jennifer’s told the magazine. ‘It makes no sense, but Jen’s self-esteem is so low that she worried all the time she’d lose her career and Brad. With Brad, it turned into a self-fulfilling prophecy.’
Obviously, it’s still early days after the break-up – but we can’t help wondering whether the couple will manage to work things out over time. If being apart is making them both unhappy, maybe it wasn’t the right thing to do after all?
