Owen Wilson attempts suicide

Our hearts go out to actor Owen Wilson today after the grim news that he tried to commit suicide at the weekend. Owen took an overdose of pills and cut his wrist, apparently after a bust-up with a friend.
Rumours are inevitable that he was pushed to breaking point by pictures of his recent ex Kate Hudson with her new man, actor Dax Shepard, but according to the New York Post it was a fight with a close friend that was more likely to be the cause. However, the actor does have a history of depression.
Kate meanwhile has fled the set of her new film after hearing the upsetting news.
Owen released a statement saying "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time." We hope he gets well soon.
