Penelope Cruz and Matthew McConaughey Over?

Besides the MTV Movie Awards, the other big story in Hollywood is that Hollywood couple Penelope Cruz and Matthew McConaughey have split up. The couple has been dating for over a year now and fell for each other after meeting on the set of the flop Sahara in 2005. The couple however has always had a hard time dealing with the pressure of working different work schedules which they feel have pushed them apart.
In a recent statement in People Magazine the couple released a joint statement which stated, “Cruz and McConaughey have decided to take time off as a couple. Due to busy work schedules and so much time apart, they mutually decided four weeks ago that separating was the best thing to do at this time." Although the pair has not been doing well as a couple apart they have been doing just fine. Crux won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival and is now in Spain filming a movie called Manolete which co-stars Adrien Brody. McConaughey was voted Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine and is now spending his summer in West Virginia filing the movie We Are Marshall.
