Cor blimey...super successful author JK Rowling has had a few of her books sold at auction...and the prices have been magical!
Today, at Christie's auction house in London, a rare copy of her Harry Potter book: The Philosopher's Stone sold for a massive £19,700. It was a special first edition copy, signed by the lady herself, so plenty of cash was raked up.
The auction also included a publisher's proof copy of The Philosopher's Stone. JK Rowling's name was misspelled on the title page as “JA Rowling” but it still went for a hefty £2,250.
Then a signed paperback edition and a signed hardback edition, both with a personal message from Rowling, were sold for £1,250.
JK Rowling must have cast a spell on the bidders for those books to have made so much...
