Reese Witherspoon’s Tabloid Battle

Here is something you don’t hear everyday, actress Reese Witherspoon is actually suing Star magazine because Witherspoon claims the tabloid has invaded her privacy. The tabloid occurring to Reese published a fake story about her pregnancy. The lawsuit was filed yesterday in Los Angeles at the LA Country Superior Court. Witherspoon insists that the Star magazine published a fake story stating that she was pregnant in a cheap and easy way for them to help boost sales of their tabloid which has not been doing very well over the past few months. The fictional story claimed that Reese was actually having her third child with her husband Ryan Phillippe. The problem of course is that is a lie. The couple do have two children already, Ava and Deacon. The papers filed in the lawsuit claim the following, “"Contrary to the fabricated Cover Story, the true facts are that Reese is not pregnant, does not have a “baby bump” and has not otherwise gained weight such that she has had to resort to wearing 'empire-waist dresses,' 'baggy clothing,' or an 'old-fashioned 1920s bathing suit'." While the lawsuit seems rather serious especially since its about invasion of privacy and fabricating a whole story about someone being pregnant, there is no mention of what is being asked to be done about the incident. I bet this will be an open and shut case because the Star magazine if it’s doing poorly like most say, they can’t accord a big lawsuit from Reese Witherspoon who now gets paid more than 20 million per movie.
