Rihanna's Umbrella might make history

These days we're used to easy-come easy-go number ones on the singles chart, but Rihanna's Umbrella's changed all that. Now it looks like the singer may make chart history by becoming the longest-running number one for more than a decade.
The song's been at the top for as long as Wet Wet Wet's Love Is All Around in 1994 – nine weeks. If it does make it to a tenth week it'll be the new queen of the longstayers – some might say overstayers, although we're happy for it to stay forever, ever, ever… It'll need a bit more oomph to beat Bryan Adams' record though – (Everything I Do) I Do It For You was number one for an eye-watering 16 weeks in 1991.
