Spears and Federline reach divorce settlement

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have reached a settlement in their divorce.
After a five hour meeting with lawyers, Spears has agreed to hand over $US1 million ($1.2 million) to Federline, and the former couple will share custody of their two young sons.The million-dollar pay-out to Federline is considerably less than previous reports suggested.
"The parties signed a global settlement on all issues of their marriage and the custody of the children," a spokesman for Federline's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan told People.A judge would have to approve the settlement for the divorce to become final.
filed for divorce late last year citing "irreconcilable differences". The two had been married two years and have two children together. Spears initially sought full custody of sons Sean Preston and Jayden James, with visitation rights for Federline.
The pop princess only recently checked out of the Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility and lawyers suggested she try for joint custody after Federline hit back and filed for sole custody of their boys and spousal support on the grounds that she was not mentally fit to raise them solely on her own.
