Spice Girls to reunite for world tour
For the first time in nearly ten years all five Spice Girls – the two Mels, Victoria, Emma and deserter Geri – have reunited. The grown-up Girls gave a press conference at the O2 arena in London to announce they are getting back together for a world tour at the end of the year.
Geri ‘Ginger Spice’ Halliwell quit the massively successful group in 1998 but has been enticed back for one last go. The tour is being put together by their original manager Simon Fuller. It’s due to start in Los Angeles in December, moving onto London after dates in Las Vegas and New York. The ladies will then head off to Koln, Madrid, Hong Kong, Sydney, Cape Town and Buenos Aires.
The group never officially split, unlike Take That who held a press conference to announce their break-up first time around. The last Spice album was Forever, released in 2000. All the Spices have had their own solo careers with varying success. The tour is due to start after Emma Bunton has given birth to her first child.
