Spurlock Apologizes

A few days ago, I reported that director Morgan Spurlock mocked and shocked students at a high school in Pennsylvania. Apparently even after his comments about how he was right and everyone else was wrong last week, he has reportedly apologized now for his foul-mouthed politically incorrect speech at the Hatboro-Horsham High School.
What I didn’t know was that his speech was cut short at the school and the school apparently canceled another one in the town later on that day. But I guess the bad press got to Spurlock because today on his website he posted a formal apology that reads “It was never my intent to insult or demean anyone and I understand how some of my remarks may have offended some in attendance and if you feel they did, I am deeply sorry.”
What happen to the lesson learned was free speech Spurlock? Oh wait yes your PR people told you it would be better to apologize. And now as told a newspaper that he didn’t think about the audience before planning his speech and claims he never “mocked retarded kids.” Spurlock says he has worked with special needs children in the past and something so harsh would never come from his lips. Interesting story, not sure who I believe in this. Spurlock could have some good PR people who is telling him what to say but who knows for sure.
