Steven Spielberg on Paramount’s Tom Cruise Cut

It must be great to be a well known star because for some reason even if you have an opinion on things it will make headlines. Director Steven Spielberg has made headlines because he is stunned by Paramount Picture’s decision to let Tom Cruise go. Spielberg insists that he had no part in the decision to let Cruise leave nor had any knowledge of the incident before hand. The reason why people were accusing Spielberg of knowing this was going to happen was because his DreamWorks Company is owned my Paramount and he also owns the talent firm Creative Artists Agency which represents Tom Cruise. The whole reason why this story has made headlines is because when Sumner Redstone decided not too keep Cruise on board a few days back there were rumors floating around the web that Spielberg knew it was going to happen. Steven Spielberg’s spokesperson Marvin Levy talked with the New York Daily News and stated “Steven had no advance knowledge of Sumner Redstone's position. The story broke when Steven was on an airplane. He found out when the plane landed." There were also rumors last year when War of the Worlds hit theaters that Spielberg was very bad at Cruise’s behavior after he fell in love with Katie Holmes but again Kathleen Kennedy who is Spielberg’s producing partner stated that those rumors weren’t true either. I guess we will know for sure if we don’t see Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise making movies together anymore.
