TV Awards shortlist announced

The shortlist for this year’s national TV awards has been announced - and there are loads of teen favourites up for big prizes.
Sci-fi show Doctor Who has been nominated for three different awards categories. The delectable (or should that be dalaktable?) BBC One show is up for most popular drama, and stars David Tennant (the Doc himself) and Freema Agyeman (his beautiful side-kick Martha Jones) are up for best actor and actress.
Time Lord Tennant will have to beat soap stars Anthony Cotton from Coronation Street (barman Sean Tully - and the guy who won Soapstar Superstar last year), Charlie Clements (Eastenders' Bradley Branning) and James Sutton (Hollyoaks' John Paul McQueen).
Freema faces competition from similar fields, as she will battle against Eastenders stars Kara Tinton (Dawn Swann) and Lacey Turner (Stacey Slater) and Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver (cabbie Elaine Grimshaw).
Dr Who has won all of the awards it has been nominated for in the last two years, but this time round it will face some stiff competition from another time-travelling classic, Life On Mars.
Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Deal or No Deal, An Audience With Take That Live, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and 8 Out of 10 Cats are all up for Most Popular Entertainment Programme.
Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, Eastenders and Emmerdale will battle to win the Best Soap award.
And Simon Cowell will be working up a nervous sweat for once, as he will be up against other reality TV talent guru Andrew Lloyd Webber (the guy behind Any Dream Will Do) for the new Most Popular Talent Show award. However, Mr Big-Gun Cowell will have the double the chance to win as both of his 2007 TV shows - X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent - are up for the accolade. Typical.
Get voting for your favourites - you can pick who you want to win!
